Supporting Workforce Development in Agricultural Manufacturing

Farm Credit Canada (FCC)  has made a significant contribution of $200,000 from to support the Careers in Ag initiative. This funding – the largest single on-governmental contribution to date – will enhance efforts to attract, retain, and grow a skilled workforce within Canada’s agricultural manufacturing sector.

The Careers in Ag initiative, led by AMC, connects job seekers with rewarding opportunities in agricultural manufacturing, one of Canada’s fastest-growing industries. FCC’s investment will strengthen outreach and engagement efforts, expand job board resources, and increase awareness of the diverse career paths available across the sector.

“Canada’s agricultural manufacturers are at the forefront of innovation, productivity, and global competitiveness,” said Donna Boyd, President of Agricultural Manufacturers of Canada. “FCC’s generous support will help us ensure that the industry has access to the skilled talent it needs to thrive – both today, and into the future.”
With this funding, Careers in Ag will expand its employer engagement, strengthen partnerships with educational institutions, and offer resources and programs that highlight the dynamic nature of careers in agricultural manufacturing – from engineering and technology to skilled trades and business operations.

“Ag and food needs all of us,” said Justine Hendricks, FCC President and CEO. “Careers in Ag is helping more Canadians see a future for themselves in agricultural manufacturing, which is one of Canada’s largest employers and economic engines. Whether they’re just starting out or looking for a new career path we’re proud to support this work and help build the skilled workforce that keeps Canada’s agriculture and food system strong, competitive, and ready for what’s next.”

A dedicated partner with Careers in Ag, FCC support will advance training programs, scholarships, and industry events that connect individuals with rewarding careers in agriculture. Together, FCC and Careers in Ag ensure the next generation has the resources and opportunities to keep this industry strong.
